Free Flu Vaccinations

Flu vaccine
Flu vaccinations are now available free of charge to help protect people during the winter months. Winter can put extra strain on health and increase the risk of becoming unwell from flu, especially for those most at risk.
It is particularly important for people who are pregnant or living with a long-term health condition to receive their vaccination. Children are also vulnerable to flu and can spread it easily to others. For younger children, the vaccine is given as a simple, safe nasal spray rather than an injection.
A free flu vaccination is available for:
- People under 65 living with a long-term health condition
- People aged 65 and over
- Pregnant women
- Children aged 2–16
- Main carers of older or disabled people
- Frontline health and social care workers
Vaccinations can be booked through GP practices, local pharmacies, or via a child’s school immunisation team.
