Eventbrite: Your home, your way - Islington's Disability Housing Event

Come along to meet local organisations, find out what support is available to you, and hear about some of the work taking place to make housing and services more accessible.

At the event, you will hear about the Housing Disability Panel, including how you can get involved, fire safety and Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs), and work to improve local planning guidance.

You can also find out about support and advice available from local organisations, including:

• Disability Action in Islington – a local organisation supporting people with disability in Islington.
• Age UK Islington – Provides information and practical support to help people manage their care needs and day-to-day issues, including money, reporting housing repairs, emotional wellbeing and getting out and about.
• Islington Carers Hub – Supports unpaid carers with emotional, financial and practical advice and guidance, including carers’ assessments, benefits advice and help to access support.
• Help on Your Doorstep – provides information, advice and support on issues including housing, home safety, welfare benefits, debt, employment, health and wellbeing
• SHINE (Seasonal Health Intervention Network) – Provides free energy advice and practical support to help residents manage energy bills and debt, access grants, and stay safe and warm at home.
• BSL interpretation will be available at this event.
